Dot Studio empowers schools to grow and build lasting impact as educational brands, serving as their one-stop solution for all things admissions. Launched by Tekie’s founding team, it was our entry point into the school ecosystem, driving outcomes while developing deep, first-principles insights for our long-term EdTech thesis

At Dot Studio, my role was deeply cross-functional, spanning from setting pricing strategy and building the design team to personally closing deals with top-tier schools across Bangalore. We functioned as a true strategic partner, not just a design vendor, working with a diverse range of institutions from State Board to A-tier IB schools.
Our core philosophy was to uncover what made each school unique: whether it was academic excellence, sports programs, or premium infrastructure, and build a bespoke brand that highlighted that strength. We then mapped ideal their parent personas and targeted them in various mediums from digital campaigns to hyper-local marketing.
Our full-service approach included:
I built and mentored a lean team of four interns and created the flexible design systems that allowed us to operate with speed and scale. A key part of our process was supporting sales pitches with tailored, quick-turnaround assets. It made a school's potential new brand instantly tangible, which significantly accelerated their decision-making.
This entire service workflow was intentionally designed with a bigger vision in mind: to eventually productize our offerings into a SaaS platform that would automate delivery, reduce turnaround time and ultimately improve our margins.
Our journey at Dot Studio and Tekie working closely with schools gave us an unfiltered look at the Indian education system. We saw the cracks: schools stuck in rote learning, misaligned parent-teacher goals, and curricula that ignored how kids actually grow. The market felt stagnant, focused on incremental improvements rather than real impact.
We realized we were in a unique position to tackle this. Our work at Dot gave us direct insight into school operations, admissions, scaling and budgeting. Our previous experience at Tekie had given us deep expertise in curriculum and pedagogy. We had seen the insides from both the business and the educational sides.
This realization sparked a new thesis. A few of us chose to pivot and focus on a much larger goal: reimagining a new-age K-12 mass-premium school from the ground up, one that fixes these systemic gaps and truly prepares kids for a fast-changing world.
Our new educational model started with the student. We built our thesis around the four cognitive stages of development, designing teaching methods that aligned with how kids think at different ages. The goal was to find the "sweet spot" of learning, that is challenging but not overwhelming, by using proven methods like Singapore's CPA math and Japan's spiral curriculum.
These principles unified into a dynamic learning structure: core proficiency building, thematic classes that connected different subjects, and hands-on experimental exploration.
To bring our educational philosophy to life, we envisioned an app that would transform learning from a series of scattered subjects into a single, connected story. I designed the concept to map out personalized focus areas that link daily work to long-term goals.
The platform would also create a supportive feedback loop with proactive check-ins for timely guidance. By making academics, passion projects, and extracurriculars transparent to all, it would turn education into a truly collaborative effort.
Dot Studio was an incredible ride. We started out helping schools tell their public stories, but we ended up learning their deeper, internal one. Getting that unfiltered, inside look at the education system was invaluable, and it forever changed how I see the challenges and opportunities in how we teach our kids.
